Private William Clements Diamond, Loyal Edmonton Regiment. Born on the 13th of Febuary 1921 in Vermilion, Alberta and killed in action on the 5th of August 1943.
William was most likely part of C-Company which attacked Hill 736. Here the Loyal Eddies made a bajonet charge and encountered 150 Germans. About 40 or 50 were killed and 25 taken prisoner. William was buried in a field grave near where he was killed and later reburied at Agira.
William lived in Peat, Alberta with his mother and two younger sisters. His father had passed away and he also had two older brothers. William enlisted on the 10th of December 1941 in Edmonton.
