Born 2 Nov 1917, Windermere, South Lakeland District, Cumbria, England;
Son of David Horn, and of Eva Horn, of Finchley, Middlesex, England.

Lieutenant John D'Arcy Horn, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. Born on the 2nd of November 1917 in Windermere, England and killed in action on the 7th of August 1943.
John was killed during the attack on Monte Seggio which was an objective for the PPCLI. He was initially buried near Carcaci and later reburied at Agira.
John was single and before the war he was active as a Cadet Officer Reserve with the Middlesex Regiment in England. His job before the war was a schoolteacher in England. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on the 1st of August 1940 in Winnipeg. He was first added to the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, but later transferred to the PPCLI. John's mother lived in London, England. His father had passed away and it is not known if he had brothers and sisters.
