Born 26 Set 1909, Hants County, Nova Scotia, Canada;
Son of John and Cynna Heerebout;
Husband of Florence Gertrude Heerebout, of Toronto, Ontario.

Reuben Earl Heerebout had 3 children. Robert Earl Heerebout, William Heerebout and a daughter Beatrice Heerebout.

 He had 2 grandson's  by Robert Earl Heerebout, my father. Paul Edward Heerebout and William Charles Heerebout.

He had 1 great- grandson from Paul Heerebout.  His name is Jason Heerebout. 

He had 1 great grandson and a great grand-daughter from William. They are Timothy Heerebout and Jennifer Heerebout.

He has 3 great-great grand children from William. I don't know their names.

His wife's name was Florence.

Reuben served in B-Squadron of the Dragoons and was killed during a traffic accident on 17 December 1943 around 16.30 hrs. He was standing in the box of a vehicle. They were towing a couple of vehicles and Reuben was holding on to the cab of the truck. They were proceeding towards Siracusa at about 20 miles per hour. In a sharp turn Reuben lost his balance and fell of the truck. He was overrun by the vehicle driving behind the one he was standing on. He had multiple injuries and a fractured base of skull. He died on the scene and was initially buried at Syracuse War Cemetery.
He was reburied at Agira on 20 December 1943.
Reuben was married to Florence Gertrude Heerebout and together they had three children, Earl Robert, George William and Beatrice Jean. They lived in Toronto where Reuben also enlisted on 21 August 1940. Reuben's parents had deceased and he had three brothers, one sister and one half sister.
