Who died age 31
on 23/05/1944

Pvt. Kucy was my grandmother`s (baba\'s) brother, my dad\'s uncle in other words. He was not 31 when he died, he was 18 or 19. According to my dad uncle leo lied on his signup papers, he just wanted to get off the farm for some adventure. Since their family had a farm, the eldest son and father did not have to go once conscription came in, leo volunteered unbeknown to his parents. He trained in Alberta in the summer of 43 and was shipped off to Halifax by train in the fall of 43. He was in the UK for a while before sailing to Italy. He was killed shortly after arriving.
