Son of the Revd. John Arthur Kershaw and Florence Kershaw;
husband of Agnes Margaret (Peggy) Kershaw, of South Shields, Co. Durham.

An unfortunate incident with the Artillery occurred during that fatal day: in the early afternoon a British Field Regiment brought down a barrage into the area occupied by Battalion Headquarters, killing the Adjutant - Captain K.H. Kershaw - and five others, and wounding several men.
