{Sferro Hills}
'B' Company, led by Captain Nixon, assaulted Point 194 and stayed all night fighting it out. Just after dawn, in tattered, stained uniforms, with wounds and streaks of blood on their faces, they came down into the plain and the artillery gave the hill another pounding. Captain A.M. Macleod of Skeabost, Skye, was found dead on the ridge; near him lay Lieutenant Henry on top of a German under officer. Dead and wounded of both sides littered the area.
