Corporal Fagan was born in the United States and moved with his parents and sisters to New Brunswick, Canada where he enrolled at Mount Allison University. Upon graduation he joined the canadian forces and served in Europe in 1940. He returned to Canada and was sent back overseas in 1943, landing in Italy. On the day of his death, his unit had taken control of Campochiaro when he was assigned the task to secure high ground. Upon doing so, he was shot and killed by machine gun fire while leading his unit up the hill. He was 26 years old. Lest we forget!
