Son of Mr. And Mrs. James Challen, 751 Patricia road, Pte. Challen was born in Ottawa,but had spent most of his life in Windsor, coming here as a child. He was employed at Plant 1 of the Crysler Corporation of Canada Ltd., before enlisting in April 1943.He went overseas in August 1943 and served in North Africa, before participating in the Italian campaign. He is also survived by six brothers, Sidney and Edward f Windsor, Fred of Detroit, Harry of Toledo, Pte. James, overseas, and Arthur of Montreal; and two sisters, Patricia at home, and Helen in Orillia. While in Windsor he had attended General Byng School.
