Son of Wilfred Stanley and Edith Ann Seaman, of Ormesby, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire.
Killed in combat with three enemy aircrafts during the escort to allied bombers on operations over Sicily

The Squadron leader S. Skalski has this to say about the operation on Tuesday 06 July 1943 :
"...During the afternoon of the 6th July 1943 the Pilot Officer Wilfred Seaman took off with other Squadron pilots and proceeded to act as escort to allied bomberson operations over enemy territory . When over Sicily,the formation encountered enemy aircraft and during the engagement his aircraft was seen to be in combat with three of the enemy. Another pilot (who was on an operation as the same time) heard a pilot report he was baling out...."
