Charles McIver was my grandfather who i never met and although my mother hardly knew him she did remember and always spoke fondly of him and how she missed not geting to know her father.
It was always her dream to get to Syracuse in Sicily to visit but due to one reaon and another never managed an she has since passed away.
I am sure my mum will be in heaven now getting to know her father and may both of them rest in peace and myself and my family are all missing them badly.

Charles McIver was my great grandfather. Father of my grandmother Sheena Gallacher (born Jessie McIver). My granny always spoke about her father, and she remembered him vividly although he passed away when she was only 3 years old. She always wanted to visit her fathers resting place, and we received a letter from the army with information regarding her visit and with funding, but unfortunately it came weeks after my gran passed away. I\'m now looking into visiting his grave, and fulfilling my grand wish. And to pay my respects to the man who created my wonderful granny. Xx
